Easter Sunday in Germany

God has blessed un with another beautiful day in Bitburg. Made all the more beautiful by remembering Jesus ressurection and looking at His Love and infinite beauty. Chimes rang out from the town church this morning after being silent since Good Friday, and children walked through town celebrating the risen Saviour with bells.
We celebrated Easter in a loft called "the upper room", out behind "the hanger" which is the name given to Roger and Sheilas hopitality house. Some of the highscoolers put on a skit, Dan led some singing and Tim read and talked on John 20-21. This celebration was shared with about 50 people from the nearby military base. Afterwords we all enjoyed fellowship and another amazing meal prepared by Sheila and company.
We had enough time for an afternoon stroll before we headed to Spangdahlum Airforce base for the chapel service. After which once again we continued meeting military families, and enjoyed building friendships, and being encouraged by their stories and comitments to God. When asked to share who had brought visitors, Lauren was able to announce she had 19 visitors this week!
I am so blessed; First for the love, suffering and redeming work of our Lord Jesus, second for the followers of Christ who are in the military living thier lives for God, thirdly from our own team members who continue to serve selflessly before men and God. Your prayers are coveted and we all look forward to sharing more details of Gods and work in Germany when time permits. Love in Christ

Hey everyone,

I hope you all are enjoying honoring the greatest three day stretch anyone could ever imagine. It must be such a blessing to be able to serve on such a glorious day.

I wish I could be there with all of you right now. But it was really great to hear the excitement from some of your voices during second service. I wish I could have heard from everyone.

Stephen,

You were the easiest to tell who it was. Such a distinct voice but your parents had HUGE grins on there faces when they heard your voice.

Kaitlyn,

You crack me up. Your were definitely the loudest but your family was happy to hear you too.

The "One and Only" Cody Wagner,

So ridiculous but you got some laughs out here. You'll have to explain that to me when you get home and you'll have to explain why you left early and didn't let me know. How am I supposed to be praying for a fun and enjoyable flight when you leave before I know??? Anyways I'll be praying for you and I look forward to hearing all about the trip.

And to the rest of you,

I truly hope you have an amazing time of fellowship. You are all very lucky and very blessed to have this opportunity. Take advantage of it. Share with each other and encourage each other. When you get a chance to do evangelism don't be scared of quiet. God is with you always. Maybe team Tiffany and Cathy together because one is kinda quiet and one is kinda loud, you figure out which is which, ha.

I miss you all and I hope the thought of God being risen for you inspires you all to rise up in your time in Germany.

I hope you all have an amazing time,

-Jason Hicks

P.S. Send me a postcard, hahahaha, just kidding, well actually I'll leave my address just in case.

Hello all,

Man it is so great to hear that the Lord is blessing your time so far. It sounds like you all had a very memorable Easter Sunday. Things just aren't the same around here with all of you gone, but we are holding down the fort with continuous prayer for you guys. May the Lord bless you and keep you, may your journeys be safe and uplifting, and your adventures be encouraging and glorifying. We miss you and love all of you.

Tim,

Sorry for Adam calling you last night or early morning for you. I hope it doesn't cost much to receive phone calls for ya. I must admit though it was pretty funny, and timing is everything and it sounded like you had just woken up so it didn't disrupt your all important sleep. Glad to tear from you and to hear all is well.

Deej,

You were missed last night as some of us Sophomores got together and watch Passions of Christ. It was so cool for the guys to get a glimpse into the sacrifice Jesus made for us. It became a little more real for them I think after seeing it. We had great conversation about pertinent things going on in our lives and the boys were so encouraging.

Last but definitely not least...

Lea Marie,

I miss you terribly. Holidays aren't the same when you are gone. Everyone asked where you were and when i said a mission trip to Germany, they said, "Germany, doesn't sound like a mission trip to me, sounds like an excuse to visit Germany", but then when I told them what you guys were doing they lightened up a bit. You missed an exciting Easter egg hunt with the kids. It was really funny seeing Cannon run around digging through the bushes. Then Payton generously asked me to use her My Little Pony Easter Egg basket for the Adult hunt... There are pictures don't worry. Anyway I hope that the Lord is using you to the fullest and I am positive that your gifts are shining through. You are an amazing encouragement to me. I can't wait to get a chance to live out the mission trip experience through your enthusiastic, theatrical explanations of every moment of every day. I can just imagine the hand motions and reenactments that are awaiting me.

I love you more than a baby loves milk, more than a fat kid loves cake (me), and more than bozwig chases his tale. ;) In case you forgot, that's a lot. I miss you like crazy. Here's a kiss for the road and a hug to keep you goin.

P.S. I promise not to watch A.I. til you get home.

Peace out everyone and God Bless you all.
