WE'RE HERE!!!

Sorry for the lack of updates folks. Actually, I (Dan) just got here and will now be able to be a bit more prompt with the blog updates. It has been great to read all of your comments and I will give everyone your updates tonight. The whole group is together now (save a few mystery guests that will be showing up throughout the week) with Jake Siewert, Matt and Jenna Pine, Melissa and Dan Bowen (Me!) arriving safely by plane today. Farmington, New Mexico is a wild place to fly into.

Today the group went to a place called the Green Valley for a Sunday communion service. Everyone enjoyed the experience. It is a really great way to begin our time on the Reservation. Tomorrow we will break in to various work teams and will split up throughout the surrounding areas to do various jobs for local people. We will also be running a basketball camp at the school, where kids will come and stay the night for three nights and do Bible studies, play basketball, and have fun. At night we will also be running kids clubs at various people homes. 17 in all.
Pray that we serve the Navajo people welll and that new bonds are made. The group has been really positive so far and everyone has been getting along really well. We have a fairly young team compared to year's past so it is good that things have started off on the right foot.

Thank you for reading this and for thinking about us. We miss you all! But really, you should just come with us next year. It's way better than reading a blog!

love you all. glad you arrived safely. i felt so lonely at church today without you all there. they took time during both services to pray for you all and show some pictures from the trip. it was great to see the church respond to what God is doing through you guys. i almost cried. praying for your first day of work tomorrow and kids clubs at night. if that little chubby kid from last year is around, push him over for me. thanks.

HELLO my new friends!!!!

You are dearly loved and dearly missed.

Today (Sunday), services were pretty empty without you, so we collectively prayed and expectantly await what our MIGHTY BIG God will do in and through you, Amen? So be prepared....He's got HUGUNGOUS plans!

The church is BUZZIN' with prayers for each and every one of you, and the people you will touch...

Miss you much. Hugs when you return.

This is the coolest way to see what you are all doing and share in God's work. Tell Spencer and Dennis hi, wear sunscreen and sleep well when you can. I'm so excited for what God has in store for both of you, soak it up! I got a call yesterday from a friend flying thru Denver...he sat next to Jenna Pine - what a small world! Denise

OK, so Janet forgot to tell you that Chavez and Piazza are back in the A's lineup. Sadly, it appears it's not helping. Dallas Braden had a beautiful outing yesterday but the A's couldn't buy a run, only got 2 hits, and lost 2-0. For those that root for the Halloween team, Barry has NOT hit his big homer yet and Zito had another disappointing outing yesterday. Bring back the basketball season!

Can't believe I don't have a kid in Arizona this year. Love you guys!
